8 Marvel Actors Who Were Cast In The Wrong Parts

4. Ray Stevenson

Collector, Volstagg, Sif, Thor: The Dark World
Marvel Studios

Ray Stevenson already played an iconic Marvel character in 2008€™s Punisher: War Zone, but the failure of the film meant he€™d never have a chance to reprise the role. Instead, he was cast to play Volstagg, one of the Warriors Three in the Thor movies.

Stevenson is fun in the role for sure and he certainly looks the part, but he has nothing of importance to do besides drink, eat some food and crack a couple of gags. Who He Should Have Played Instead: Emil Blonsky/The Abomination

Tim Roth was bags of fun in the role Emil Blonsky in The Incredible Hulk, but no amount of machine guns and Special Forces gear could convince the audience the diminutive actor was a really badass soldier.

Stevenson€™s more imposing physique would have been a better contrast, and he can play menacing in his sleep. Speaking of Tim Roth though...

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
