8 MCU Movies You Can Totally Avoid Watching

1. Ant-Man And The Wasp

Like the last couple of movies on this list, it almost feels wrong excluding Ant-Man and The Wasp from any MCU-watch simply because it's a damn great film.

Reuniting Paul Rudd with Evangeline Lilly and Michael Douglas, the sequel effortlessly recreates that magical chemistry that this unorthodox family had in the previous film, while adding Michelle Pfeiffer's Janet van Dyne to the mix finally pulls the trigger on some long-teased narrative threads. It's also bigger (literally) and a whole lot funnier than its predecessor.

Speaking of 2015's Ant-Man, that is the only film that this one is directly related to and, save for a post-credit scene that is explained in Avengers: Endgame anyway, there is nothing significant to the Infinity saga in this one. While it's true that Endgame utilises the quantum realm (a common fixture of the Ant-Man films), it also gives Scott some time to break down its uses to any unfamiliar audience members, essentially rendering both Ant-Man movies unnecessary to the cinematic universe's overall story.
