6. The Nazi Dream Sequence In 'An American Werewolf In London'

In An American Werewolf in London, David Kessler's vacation goes a little off the rails when he stumbles across the Yorkshire moors. As soon as he and his buddy wind up off the beaten path, they are attacked by a werewolf. Only David survives the ordeal with a nasty scratch, and he winds up in the hospital.

After he wakes up in a London hospital, he doesn't fully remember what happened, and while he was definitely infected with lycanthropy, he wouldn't turn until the next full moon. This left him a solid month to recover and woo his nurse.

Throughout the month, he's plagued by horrible nightmares, which are disturbing, and somewhat inexplicable, as they don't make much sense. The worst being the one that starts with him in his home in the States, working on his college homework while his family is watching TV. The viewer doesn't immediately know it's a dream, but it becomes clear pretty quickly.

A squad of mutant Nazi monsters storm the house and kills David's family. They then burn his home, destroying everything, which is when he sits up in the hospital bed. It was a dream, and the nurse opens the curtains, but she's quickly stabbed to death, and David has his throat slit.

It's a wildly crazy dream, and it's full of jump scares, but other than that, it's surreal, strange, and inexplicable.
