8 Movie Monsters Ruined by Recent Films (And The Films That Could Save Them)

3. Sharks - The Asylum and SyFy Channel€™s Various Shark Films

piranha-bloodbath Dinoshark, Octoshark, Sharktopus, Mega Shark vs, Giant Octopus, Sand Sharks, Jurassic Shark, 2 Headed Shark Attack, Mega Shark vs Crocosaurus, Swamp Shark and the upcoming Sharknado. Let nobody tell you there aren€™t any shark movies being made nowadays because there are plenty - all the films above came out in the last five years. But let nobody tell you there€™s been a shark film released in the last decade that has been anything above decent. In fact, aside from Deep Blue Sea and the vastly underrated 12 Days of Terror, there probably hasn€™t been a shark film above decent since a certain shark film of the 70s, one made by a certain world renowned director who can thank most of his career to it. Let's drop the horrendous plots and bad acting for a moment to consider the shark itself - the main reason these films have made the list is because of the tragically terrible CGI they use to render their sharks. Whatever happened to good old Bruce the mechanical shark? Who Can Save It? Jaws Honestly, I€™ve got nothing. I searched high and low to find an upcoming film that looks promising for each monster, but there€™s just nothing. Sharks seem to be doomed to the rinse and repeat cycle of poor CGI and even poorer acting. The only salvation I can see resurrecting the glorious shark is if Spielberg was to return to his ailing franchise, but after forty years I don€™t know if even he has it in him to make a film to even a fraction of what made Jaws so successful. Just anything to make another good shark film.
