7. Cage Is Back - XXX: The Return Of Xander Cage

In stark contrast to his current franchise addiction, Vin Diesel was once pretty resistant to the idea of sequels. He turned down 2 Fast 2 Furious because he wanted to move on, and he did the same thing when it was time for XXX to get a sequel.

Ice Cube took over instead, playing a new agent with the XXX moniker. It seems the studio wasnt too happy with Vins decision since the sequel establishes his character was killed on a mission. The DVD even has a short movie that shows his death, where Cage (played by Vin Diesels stunt double) is shown being killed in an explosion by the baddies of the second film.

Diesel has now decided to return to the franchise, so Cage suddenly has a whole new lease of life. It remains to seen if The Return Of Xander Cage will even address the whole death thing, but given the lack of love for XXX 2, theyll probably just ignore it.
