8 Movie Sequels That Cost LESS Than The Original (But Were Better)
4. Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019)
That's right - Spider-Man: Far From Home cost less than Homecoming (2017). Whilst the first Tom Holland led picture cost 175 million to produce, Far From Home managed to better it with only 160 million to its name.
Now, Homecoming was seriously great, and was certainly the best Spidey flick since Spider-Man 2 (2004), but everything that Homecoming did well, Far From Home perfected.
With added emotion packed in thanks to the passing of Tony Stark in Avengers: Endgame (2019), Far From Home was a much more character-driven piece of superhero action, focused on Peter's reaction to Tony's sacrifice and tackling the legacy Iron Man left behind thanks to new charismatic villain Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal).
If that wasn't enough, it also gives added screen time to Ned (Jacob Batalon) and M.J (Zendaya), who each have a more substantial role to play in Peter's new adventure.
Both films are funny, thrilling coming-of-age superhero adventures, but Far From Home is the best of the pair thanks to its extra emotion and some seriously out-of-the-blue but more than welcome twists that are going to play a large role in the future of the MCU.
