8 Movies That Weren't As Good As Their Soundtracks

6. Daredevil - Composer: Graeme Revell (plus many other artists)

Daredevil I'll admit, I always liked this film. Sure its not in the league of the Avengers movies, or Nolan's Batman trilogy or even the X Men / Sam Raimi Spider-Man films (the first 2 of each trilogy anyway), but I liked it. Colin Farrell is a cracking villain as Bullseye, something I think people tend to forget. The late Michael Clarke Duncan also cuts a forbidding figure as The Kingpin. I think Ben Affleck does a decent job as the blind vigilante. I for one, think he'll do an even better job as Batman. I don't know enough about the comics, but I do know it took the infamous story line surrounding Elektra and her death. And I was quite engaged in the story, simple as it may have been. There were some cracking fight sequences...the park scene less so... I think the problem is that it feels like a set up for more to come...as no sequel appeared it ends with a bit of a what next feeling. Love it or hate it though, it has a cracking soundtrack. Staring with the score itself, Graeme Revell goes for a title sequence that feels like a gritty, rocky, darker version of Danny Elfman's Spiderman scores. And it some ways that's quite apt. It's just as engaging. But what really elevates this soundtrack is the use of tracks throughout the film. If you're into softer rock, this is your thing. Like the aforementioned Twilight, Daredevil has some brilliant songs on its soundtrack. They are some brilliant tracks that make the album a brilliant compilation, even without its connection to the film. The Calling's 'For You', Nickelback's 'Learn The Hard Way. And my favourite, Revis' 'Caught In The Rain'. Some brilliant tracks. But mostly it's remembered for making Evanescence big. The main track 'Bring Me To Life' is fantastic, but they also produced a softer, beautiful little number called 'My Immortal', which was used really effectively during the moment where Matt find's Elektra's necklace after her 'death'. It's a soundtrack that is definitely worth a listen, even if you're not a fan of Daredevil itself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FyMJqp4071o
