8 Problems With Upcoming Movies (That Have Already Been Solved)

4. Fast & Furious 9

The Rock Vin Diesel
Universal Pictures

The Problem: Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson's not-so-secret feud would've caused problems on set.

The Solution: Dwayne Johnson isn't in it.

One of the worst-kept Hollywood secrets in recent memory, the friction between bald giants Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel has been present for several years at this point, and spawned on the set of The Fate of the Furious - the eighth instalment in the series.

It was somewhat inevitable that two alpha male personalities would clash at some point, especially when Johnson began to muscle in on Diesel's franchise more and more. Details are scarce on what exactly caused the feud in the first place, but tensions between the two stars resulted in them shooting no scenes together on Fate of the Furious, as well as not appearing together on the film's press tour.

Things haven't improved since, either. With Johnson's Hobbs and Shaw widening the rift between himself and the core Fast family (and Tyrese throwing shade at him every chance he gets), their beef would've made things really difficult on the set of Fast 9.

But luckily for the security guard who has to break them both apart when they start staring each other down, their feud will no longer be a problem on the upcoming film, because Johnson isn't in it. Whether or not he'll return for the tenth film remains to be seen, but at least the ninth won't have to deal with this problem anymore.

In 2022, he took charge of WhoCulture and has grown it into the biggest Doctor Who channel on YouTube, and one of the biggest Doctor Who communities on the web full-stop. He has been writing and video editing since his early teens, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers, off the back of a burning obsession with the Matt Smith era of the show. Like many his age, he first got into Doctor Who with the 2005 revival, but has since gone back and fallen in love with the classic years too. If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order, or to give you a random factoid about the making of Gridlock, Danny is the person to ask!
