7. He's Making Films For Everyone...
Up to now, Hardy's exposure as a star has seemed sporadic. He introduced himself to arthouse audiences in 2008 with Bronson, then stuck to TV until breaking out with a supporting role in Inception in 2010, followed by another breakout role in The Dark Knight Rises in 2012. Though film fanatics will tell you Tom Hardy is already a big star, the truth is his biggest impact aside from in the aforementioned has been made in smaller films hardly anyone saw, like Warrior, Locke and The Drop. 2015 is set to be different: following historical thriller Child 44, a film intended for more mature audiences, Hardy has four more wildly different films on the way, and they all appeal to very different crowds. Aside from the already mentioned Mad Max: Fury Road, which will no doubt go down well with blockbuster fans, Hardy has theatrical adaptation London Road for the arthouses, as well as Kray twins biopic Legend and Inarritu western The Revenant for those fans of more serious, prestige cinema. Expect the latter two to carry talk of Hardy well into awards season.
