8 Reasons You Should Be Excited For The Predator

3. That Final Shot

The Predator
Fox

In all honesty, the first trailer for The Predator was a bit limp.

It showed off the cast, the core concept, and the opening with Tremblay was inspired. But it was largely forgettable and came to a close far too quickly. It came and went without ever delivering a real money shot or 'wow' moment. The final shot of the trailer was just a Predator holding Holbrook up against a wall, the kind of thing audiences have seen tons of times before.

Then, the new trailer came out. It's essentially all the same footage from the first, just a bit remixed, with one notable exception. The new final shot sees the Predator hold Holbrook against the wall once again, but this time, another Predator arm rips through the wall and flings the first Predator out. Standing above the first Predator is a towering Mega-Predator, whose design is somehow even more gnarly than the original.

This shot only lasts for a matter of seconds but does exactly what it needs to do. It teases the potential for the furthering of the franchise's narrative and the reinvention that Black and co. are bringing to it. Plus, the swift and visceral movement of the shot is a wonderful taste of what is to come for the action sequences.
