8 Simple Fixes To Improve Star Wars: The Last Jedi
6. Use Ackbar For The Kamikaze Instead Of Holdo
Granted this is more than editing, but dammit, Ackbar should've capitalised on his immortal meme-ness by being granted a fitting sendoff.
Instead, we got the utterly personality-less Admiral Holdo piloting the Raddus directly into Snoke's ship and its accompanying dreadnoughts - a "hero moment" that if it was given to literally anybody else, might have been remembered for something more than visuals.
I say, give it to Admiral Ackbar. Hell, give it to Nien Numb.
For the Admiral, he's of course known for "It's a trap!" in Return of the Jedi, only to pop up again in The Force Awakens, and essentially form the basis for Admiral Raddus in Rogue One. We don't need him to do anything else in the movie (his "shtick" is showing up for one big scene anyway), so when Holdo and Leia are discussing the need for someone to fly the lead ship, have him volunteer.
Sadly, voice of Ackbar Erik Bauersfield passed away in 2016, though Raddus' Paul Kasey is very much alive, and I bet can do a spot-on impersonation/tribute.
Also, it'd be Raddus' voice actor playing the character that inspired his performance, flying the ship then named Raddus later in the timeline. Perfect.
