8 Star Wars Movie Scenes Where Reshoots Are Painfully Obvious

4. All Of Saw Gerrera's Scenes - Rogue One

As mentioned in the intro, reshoots don't always ruin a movie, and Rogue One is a great example of them making a film even better. This live-action spin-off is considered by many to be one of the very best Star Wars movies ever made, and for good reason. Boasting great action, characters, and a visual style not seen in any other instalment, Rogue One ushered in a different kind of SW flick without sacrificing the series' larger identity.

Even more impressive, it managed to pull that off while undergoing extensive reshoots and retooling from a completely different director. With Tony Gilroy called in oversee extra filming after Gareth Edwards wrapped the initial shoot, a significant chunk of the story was altered.

The interesting thing is, you can't tell too much in the final film, and for this entry we have to cast our eye to the trailers. Not only do these boast a bunch of shots and lines not featured in the final cut, but they also feature completely different character designs.

The Saw Gerrera of the first trailer appears with a shaved head. For the final film, most of the character's scenes were reshot and in the process he received a complete makeover.

Sporting a cracking new hairdo rather than the shaved head of the first teaser and the movie's prologue, it's the biggest indicator that Saw's scenes had changed. While you might assume the trailer footage was part of a larger prologue, keep in mind those lines reference an adult Jyn on Jedha (and were deleted), while behind-the-scenes shots and images from Rogue One's Visual Guide also confirm that Saw initially sported the bald look in his scenes with an adult Jyn.
