8 Superheroes That Deserve A Live Action Adaptation

1. Jack Kirby€™s Fourth World

Type of Adaptation: HBO TV Series Not the best known property on the list although if you are reading this I suspect you will of heard of it. Imagine Game of Thrones on acid in space and you have Jack Kirby€™s Fourth World. Set in the opposing and eternally warring worlds of New Genesis and Apokolips the Fourth World mythology has spanned several comic book series since it was first introduced by Jack Kirby in 1970. Apokolips is ruled by the evil and domineering tyrant Darkseid who will stop at nothing in his quest for the anti-life equation. He is aided in his quest by his personal group of bodyguards/soldiers, the Female Furies who are trained into ruthless killing machines by the fanatically loyal Granny Goodness. Fighting against Darkseid is his son Orion, an unyielding warrior, raised by the ruler of New Genesis, Highfather. Other characters include Mister Miracle, a man who can escape any situation, Big Barda, a former Female Fury as strong as Wonder Woman and Metron, an all knowing observer and oracle of the Fourth World. With a host of colourful characters the comic book series is littered with politics, revenge and violence all set in a intricate fantastical world that makes Marvel€™s version of Asgard look like a Saturday morning cartoon. Granted an HBO style mini series may be a bit of a pipe dream and the budget would not be small but the potential for an adaptation of this series could make it one of the greatest comic book adaptations of all time. Comic book fans can only hope the executives at Warner Bros feel the same.
