8 Things We Want From Halloween Kills
2. Another Epic John Carpenter Score
One of the highlights of the Halloween franchise as a whole has always been the music. The series lucked out when John Carpenter played the 5/4 time structure on piano and created an iconic horror theme.
Since then hearing how other composers change or incorporate that theme into their own Halloween score has always been one of the most exciting surprises of the series.
The film world rejoiced when it was announced that Carpenter would be returning to score 2018's Halloween, marking his first involvement with the franchise in 36 years. Audiences couldn't wait to hear just how he'd revamp his classic score when playing the iconic theme once again.
Needless to say, he didn't disappoint and the music is one of the most praised aspects of the 2018 film. Carpenter masterfully walks the line of creating a new sound while incorporating his classic elements. The updated cues are much more aggressive mixing in guitars and distortion, whilst some of the newer compositions like The Shape Hunts Allyson became instant classics.
And guess what? We want more! With the confirmation that Carpenter is scoring both Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends it's fair to say expectations and hype for the score are ridiculously high. Everyone wants to hear how Carpenter will no doubt perfectly compliment a sequel he has described as "dark," "terrifying" and "insane."
