2. Sean Young - Catwoman
Probably the most terrifying example of an actor really wanting a role, and not taking no for an answer. Young actually came real close to starring in a Batman movie before, when she was cast as Vicki Vale in the original 1989 movie. She injured herself training for a horse riding scene – which was later scrapped anyway - and had to bow out.
She obviously saw the success of the movie and decided she wasn’t going to miss out on Batman Returns, so when she heard Catwoman was going to appear she made up her own homemade outfit and appeared – completely unannounced – at Tim Burton’s production office proclaiming she was the character. Legend has it Burton hid behind his desk while she looked for him, and she was eventually escorted out by security.
Young would later appear – rather cringingly – on The Joan Rivers Show to lobby for the part. In a move that surprised absolutely no one, she failed to receive the part in the end.
