8 Unintentionally Hilarious Horror Movie Endings
4. Bad Graphics - Devil’s Pass
Devil's Pass (2013) is a delightful low-budget film depicting a group of college students who are seeking to uncover the true reasons behind the events of the infamous Dyatlov's Pass Incident that occurred in 1959. A well directed and executed semi-found footage movie, it fantastically built tension and truly had the audience wondering what really happened on that fateful expedition that resulted in the deaths of all members of the group.
Despite having said this, the only downfall for this movie is its ending. A bold idea that unfortunately did not really pay off, paired with very, very bad graphics, made for an uncomfortably laughable ending.
Once having retraced the steps of the original expedition group and setting up camp for the night, it soon becomes evident that someone, or something, is watching them and tracking their movements. At this particular moment in time, it's unclear what sort of situation the group find themselves in, but they know that they are in a hostile environment. After uncovering what appears to be some sort of bunker embedded into the side of a mountain, two of the group decide to try and open the door without telling the rest of the group.
This discovery and the ensuing interference from Russian police posing as a rescue team is ultimately what leads to the majority of the group being killed in various ways. Evidently, the door in the side of the mountain is integral to the plot, and from here on in is where the story begins to unravel at an ungodly rate. Right at the very end of the final act of the film, the audience is shown that the two creatures that had been following the group from the beginning of their expedition turn out to be malformed future versions of two members of the group who can now also teleport... yes it is as weird as it sounds. It's definitely an interesting watch, and if you fancy a good laugh then this is your go-to!
