8 Upcoming Horror Films To Be Pumped For In 2019

3. It: Chapter Two

It Chapter 2
Warner Bros. Pictures

The one everyone is waiting for.

Back in September of 2017, Andy Muschietti's adaptation of Stephen King's It did unprecedented business at the box office and earned widespread acclaim from critics and fans alike. That film ended with a bit of a cliffhanger, as The Losers Club defeated Pennywise, only for the film's official title of It: Chapter One to appear on-screen, letting audiences know the tale was far from over.

Whereas King's book spends the entirety of its length jumping back and forth between the present and past stories of The Losers Club, the first film solely devoted its runtime to the past stories of the Club as children. Thus, the second film is set to cover the present-set portion of the story, aging up all of the characters to full-blown adults.

Muschietti returns to direct once again, this time with an entirely new all-star cast (Jessica Chastain, Bill Hader, James McAvoy) with the exception of Bill SkarsgÄrd who is returning to deliver another take on his instantly-iconic performance as Pennywise.

Considering the absolute lunacy that is the present-set portion of King's novel, if the film stays true to even half of that stuff, audiences are in for one wild ride come September of 2019.
