3. Tom Hardy
Hardy might have different career goals. He has somehow managed to become a star while his largest role, as Bane in The Dark Knight Rises, kept his face hidden the entire time. He takes front and center again in Lawless at the end of August, and there is a distinct possibility that Hardy may want to take his career in a more serious direction. But he has a presence on camera that suggests a badass tough guy. He has the thick build which resembles Van Damme's, but of course he has more chops as an actor. Nevertheless, I could see Hardy handling an army of Colombian nationals, and mowing down a drug lord without batting an eye.
2. Chris Hemsworth
The God of Thunder himself, Hemsworth may be similar to Hardy in the fact that he has real acting ability and might be ready to take his career in a more serious direction. But Hemsworth is a big, burly dude with some serious screen presence. He also has the confidence to play an action star. Heck, Thor is perhaps the cockiest of all the superheroes out there, so we know Hemsworth has the swagger. He could fit easily into the role of a small-town sheriff in charge of protecting his family and his community from an encroaching group of baddies. Sounds pretty similar to The Last Stand synopsis.
