9 Actors Who Could Be The Breakout Stars Of 2016

3. Scott Eastwood

See Him In: Fury Look Out For Him In: Snowden; Suicide Squad The oldest performer on this list (29), Scott Eastwood, son of Clint, has technically been acting since 2006, when, credited as Scott Reeves, he starred in his old man's Flags of our Fathers. It wasn't until David Ayer's Fury last year, however, that the actor really began to make an impression, tough and effective in his small role as Sergeant Miles. Eastwood has definitely got something of his father in him, both in his ragged-but-handsome aesthetic, and too his actual style, which is gruff and to-the-point but nevertheless oddly charming. Like Clint, the actor seems imbued with an old man wisdom. He's not even thirty yet, but you get the sense that he's a weather-beaten, weary old fighter. 2016 looks set to be his breakthrough year, though. While the poster for his forthcoming Mercury Plains casts Eastwood in the same light as his father (even down to the typeface), it's his one-two of Snowden and Suicide Squad which really pique interest surrounding the actor. The former, about NSA whistleblower, Edward Snowden, will hopefully be the great return to form for maverick firebrand director, Oliver Stone (who really is back in the territory he owned with JFK and Nixon), whereas the aforementioned latter, in which Eastwood's role is unknown, will see the actor reunited with Ayer for what will surely be one of the most watched films of the summer.
