9 Actors You Won't Believe Voiced Famous Cartoon Characters

6. Orson Welles

Orson Welles, the legendary actor that wrote, directed and starred in one of the most revered movies of all-time - Citizen Kane - also voiced a planet-sized, cartoon robot that devoured worlds. Wait what? Yes, the very last film that Welles worked on before he passed away in 1985 was an animated film. It wasn't just any old animated film though, it was Transformers: The Movie.
Even more surprising than finding out Vin Diesel voiced a heart-warming, friendly giant robot, Orson Welles' final performance as that of a cosmic, evil Transformer is so bizarre that it borders on being some kind of fan fantasy. Thankfully though, it's true, and while the role is far, far removed from the films you'd usually associate Welles with, it shouldn't be any less notable. The actor's signature booming voice is utilised extremely well and serves as one of the reasons why it's still better than Michael Bay's monstrosities.
