6. Lewis - RoboCop 3

Lewis was (briefly) Alex Murphy’s partner, and when he was resurrected she helped him rediscover his humanity. She was also something of a badass and was capable of holding her own in a gun or fistfight. She’s one of the most underrated female action heroes in cinema, and the resoundingly lame RoboCop 3 did not do her justice.

Actress Nancy Allen wasn’t particularly keen on making the film since original lead Peter Weller (wisely) decided to jump ship, and the studio decided to make the third entry child-friendly. She still agreed to make a small appearance, where she’s killed in the first act and Robo has to seek revenge.

Handled the right way this could have been emotional, but the scene is badly staged and her death feels like a cheap plot device. Instead of a bloody rampage of revenge we get RoboCop flying around in a jetpack and firing his gun arm, which would probably have poor Lewis rolling in her grave.
