9 Blatant Lies Filmmakers Told To Keep Their Movies Unspoiled

9. Spielberg Denied That Mutt Was Indiana Jones' Son

From the moment Shia LaBeouf was cast in Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull it was automatically assumed he was Indiana€™s son. He was the son of Indiana€™s old flame Marion, he was named after a dog just like Indy and it made sense that they might try to introduce a new character to carry on the series. Spielberg denied the movie was a €œfather-son€ story however and when the cast spoke about the character of Mutt they insisted he was just Indy's sidekick. When the truth is finally revealed it feels like the movie is just catching up with the audience, and the revelation was met with a collective shrug by most people. The only surprising thing about it is that Indiana himself hadn€™t figured it out already. George Lucas admitted Mutt was introduced with the intention of giving him a spin-off series, but a negative reaction from the fans to the character killed those plans.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
