9 Confirmed Easter Eggs In Movies That Aren't Even Out Yet

5. Various Sci-Fi References (Interstellar)

If you're a true sci-fi buff and you've seen the recently released trailer for Christopher Nolan's Interstellar, you will undoubtedly have noticed a number of references to past sci-fi classics. In this instance, we'll be focusing on examples that clearly throw nods towards 2001: A Space Odyssey, Planet of the Apes and Blade Runner. Starting with 2001: A Space Odyssey, there were at least three references to it; a video call between space and Earth, exactly like there was in Stanley Kubrick's classic, a circular-shaped spaceship, just like in the old movie, and some extremely similar landscapes and views/perspectives of said landscapes. Planet of the Apes is clearly referenced in a pod crash landing into the ocean scene. The scene from the opening in Planet of the Apes is arguably the most famous of its kind in fiction and Nolan practically replicates it in Interstellar. Finally, the Blade Runner link is not in the visuals, but rather in the movie's theme - something that comes across clearly in the trailer. The tagline for Interstellar is "Mankind was born on Earth. It was never meant to die there" and that was essentially the theme of Blade Runner - survival.
