9 Famous Movie Moments Unbelievably Nailed On The First Take

3. Julia Stiles Delivered That Poem Reading On The First Take - 10 Things I Hate About You

10 Things I Hate About You: one of those probably not very good movies that we all love regardless, because, hey, we grew up watching it, so cut us some slack, will you?

The movie is technically a modern adaptation of William Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew, and features a high school-based teen romance plot between the forthright Katarina "Kat" Stratford (Stiles) and bad boy Patrick Verona (played by the late, great Heath Ledger), who don't realise they're being pushed into a relationship by a third party - Joseph Gordon Levitt's Cameron James, who is smitten with Katarina's hot sister.

One of the more memorable scenes in 10 Things I Hate About You concerns a poem, which Katarina reads - in tears, mind you - after she believes herself to have been betrayed by Patrick. It's a goofy poem, sure, but it gave the movie its catchy title. What many people don't know, however, is that Julia Stiles' reading was captured in one take. When it came to the shooting of said scene, Stiles also broke down in tears, though she wasn't meant to.

Of course, this adds to the emotion and - in the process - renders it doubly memorable.
