Appearing in over 100 live-action films, Sterling Holloway found, as he started working with the Walt Disney Company in 1941, that his soft and relaxed voice was better suited for voice acting than it was for onscreen performances.

Most famous today for his legendary performances as the voices of the titular Winnie the Pooh and the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland, Holloway also voiced characters in other Disney animated classics, including Dumbo, Bambi, The Jungle Book, and The Aristocats. In 1991, Holloway was made a Disney Legend, the first voice actor to ever be given the honor.
