Vertical Entertainment

Frank Grillo stars in Body Brokers as Vin, a sleazey speaker in a rehab facility. The movie explores the private rehabilitation industry, focusing on the story of Jack Kilmer's Utah and Alice Englert's Opal. Both characters are addicts.

The film is written and directed by John Swab, who previously wrote and directed Run With The Hunters.

According to Deadline, this film:

...follows two junkies in Ohio as they take up an opportunity to head to Los Angeles for drug treatment. But while on the road to sobriety, the two challenge the rehab process and begin to see it as a cover for a predatory business.

Utah is solicited to recruit other addicts into the rehab facility. The film depicts a business that hunts vulnerable people to exploit them for cash. The opioid crisis in America forms the backdrop for the story. Grillo's Vin takes Utah under his wing, showing him a good time while using him to find other addicts. All around them, the people who are supposed to be helping are leeching from them both.

Body Brokers is set to arrive on February 19th, 2021.
