Freddy Vs. Jason wasn’t really worth the ten-year wait fans had to endure for it, but the end fight between the two titans was an enjoyable slice of B-movie mayhem. With the huge success of the movie studios were briefly keen to greenlight more movie fights between iconic monsters, and the one that had the most potential was the grudge match between Michael Myers and Pinhead.

The concept might sound dumb as hell (sorry), but it was enticing enough to get Halloween creator John Carpenter and Hellraiser author Clive Barker on board. The potential storyline was never revealed (maybe Michael is really good at solving puzzle boxes?) and the project died out pretty quick. Barker claims he was all ready to sign the papers when he got a call from Dimensions' Bob Weinstein saying the project was scrapped.

Apparently Halloween rights holder Moustapha Akkad wasn’t so hot on it, so that was that. The only exciting thing about the idea was Barker and Carpenter working together, but we probably didn’t miss out on a classic either. It definitely sounds a lot better than...
