9 Major Movie Stars Who've Died Onscreen In Really Disgusting Ways
6. Andy Serkis - King Kong
Peter Jackson’s King Kong was clearly a love letter to his favourite movie and cinema in general, but his need to overstuff his movies lead to it being too bloated to fully appreciate. He’s come a long way from his Braindead or Bad Taste days, but one scene in Kong proved he still had the old horror edge.
His tribute to the original’s infamous lost Spider Pit scene has the sailors get shaken off the log by Kong, and fall into a chasm filled with nasty insects, bugs and other nasty man-eating creatures. Andy Serkis plays Lumpy the cook (of course he also provided the motion capture for Kong himself) who tries to prevent his friend's body being eaten by large, disgustingly phallic worms. He manages to hold them off for a bit, before one by one they grab ahold of his limbs.
Then one grabs his head and swallows it inch by inch, which is an image that will fuel many a nightmare. It’s not a gory death but it is incredibly unpleasant to watch, and it’s made all the more nightmarish by his muffled screams once his head is swallowed.
