9 Marvel Movie Plots That DC Should Totally Rip Off
3. Wonder Woman - Thor: The Dark World
The Basic Premise: When a mythical kingdom is threatened by a dark force, long thought banished, a young royal must seek to destroy it. Uniting with every ally they can, they track this evil to a human city where they must destroy it for good. How DC Could Make It Better: Something as small as inverting the genders of the main characters could do wonders for DC. Having the strong-willed female rescue the doe-eyed male could make for a refreshing change of pace and an engaging dynamic. Its also a problem when the main character is not the star of their own show. Loki is much more compelling than Thor but his character is so superfluous to the story that it detracts from the film as a whole. Diana needs to be the most interesting character of her own film and her sidekicks need to feel like just that, sidekicks. One of Thors biggest missteps was the lack of time devoted to the villain. Malekith simply wanted to destroy and there was not much to his character beyond that. If Wonder Woman is to have a better journey, then her villains will need to be more fleshed out and given more screen time. Simply their integration into her own origins could be enough to make the conflict feel natural.
