5. Crushed Inside Giant Flesh Ball - Akira
Tetsuo's girlfriend Kaori has a rough time of it throughout Akira. Her boyfriend is a whiny jerk with anger management issues, she gets beaten by some of his enemies and when Tetsuo goes on his psychic rampage she’s the one who tries to talk him down.
Unfortunately, she doesn’t do very well with that, and when he loses control of his powers his body starts to morph and expand to massive size. Kaori is sucked into this gross ball of flesh and trapped, and we get to watch as she slowly and painfully squeezed to death inside of him.
It would be an unpleasant scene regardless - hopefully, there are no claustrophobic's watching - but the fact it happens to one of the few innocent characters in Akira pushes it over into downright cruel.
