9 Movie Villains So Stupid They Caused Their Own Deaths

9. The Green Goblin Is Impaled By His Own Glider - Spider-Man

Norman Osborn was more of a tragic villain than an out and out monster, with his split personality forcing him to commit acts of violence. He still did enjoy the feeling of power it gave him though, and the evil part wasn't above using his good side to manipulate others. This was seen in the final showdown between Green Goblin and Spider-Man, where Norman reveals himself to Peter and begs for help. As Peter stands in shock, unsure of his next move, Norman stealthily brings up his glider behind him. At the last second Peter leaps over the glider, whose spikes slam right into Norman. No come on - if he knew it was coming, he probably should have stepped out of the way, even if he thought it would work. NThe entire thing is rather dumb - in Spider-Man 3 the Osborn butler takes his sweet time revealing to Harry that his father's wounds were self inflicted, and Spider-Man is innocent. Why he couldn't have revealed this when Harry started his destructive vendetta against Spider-Man remains a mystery to this day.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
