9 Outrageous Ways Famous Movie Characters Came Back From The Dead
4. Spock Survives Radiation Poisoning Star Trek III: The Search For Spock
The late, great Leonard Nimoy originally decided that Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan would be his final time playing the iconic Spock. He was only enticed to come back on the promise that Spock would be given a really dramatic death scene. This promise was kept. He Was Dead...: In a scene that made grown men wept the world over, Spock exposes himself to lethal radiation to fix the ship's broken Warp Drive. Kirk comes along just in time to see his best friend wasting away behind protective glass. They have one final, heartfelt talk and then Spock dies. A perfect, noble end. ...But He Got Better: Until Wrath Of Khan become a big hit, and producers quickly wanted to make another movie. In Star Trek III Spocks casket lands on the life giving Genesis Planet, and hes brought back to life as a child. But through the wonders of science he quickly grows up to be the Spock of old, and at the end hes rescued by his crewmates. A bit of a copout to the characters emotional send-off, but in the films defence, his possible resurrection was hinted at in Part II. Nimoy didnt mind returning as he enjoyed making Wrath of Khan, and he came back as both Spock and as the director of the film.
