9 Reasons Zoolander 2 Is A Disappointment (And 2 It's Not)

5. The CGI Is Terrible

Again, not a deal breaker on its own here, but sweet Jesus, the visual effects in this thing are shocking. This is particularly noticeable when Derek and Hansel are picked up as they arrive in Rome by "the VIP", an apparent child who has had Fred Armisen's face crudely pasted on with sub-standard visual effects. The result is more creepy and weird than funny. Then there are various elaborate flashback sequences which contain a ton of CGI, and a finale that relies on it also. Though the movie's kitschy tone means that the atrocious effects are a little easier to handle, it's still rather painful on the eyes.
