9 Ridiculous Upcoming Cinematic Universes

Disney dug deep into their wallets to acquire the rights to Star Wars, and you can bet they’re going to milk every last revenue stream they can. The Force Awakens was a strong opening to the next round of movies, mixing likable new characters with just the right level of nostalgia.

The next few years will be pretty Star Wars heavy, with Gareth Edward’s Rogue One adding another prequel to A New Hope and, if the trailer is anything to go by, then good things are in store. Rian Johnson’s Episode VIII will continue the main saga in 2017, and then 2018 will have the Han Solo prequel movie, which will probably become a trilogy of its own.

Colin Trevorrow’s Episode IX and another unnamed anthology movie – possibly featuring Boba Fett - will arrive in 2019 and 2020 respectively. So short of a disaster, the force should be strong with the saga for many years to come.

Now, how about a Jar Jar Binks origin story?
