6. Matt Addison - Resident Evil: Apocalypse

While the Resident Evil video game franchise is one drenched in horror, the movie franchise loosely based on that IP amped up the science-fiction and action elements for the silver screen.

Of course, Mila Jovovich's Alice was the star of the show in the Resident Evil movie franchise, but one of the other more intriguing characters of the series was Matt Addison. Played be one-time Crow, Eric Mabius, Addison was dragged away to be placed in the Nemesis Program at the end of the first Resident Evil film.

By the time Addison resurfaced in Resident Evil: Apocalypse, he'd became the hulking, unrelenting Nemesis. Giving the iconic Nemesis character this particular backstory was one thing that some franchise fans took umbrage with, but it was the eventual fate of Nemesis in Apocalypse that really soured fans.

Taking a giant dump on the Nemesis character, Apocalypse actually turned this monstrous behemoth into a good guy. Having spent so much of the film attacking anyone and everyone, Nemesis has a change of heart towards the movie's climax - with the return of certain memories causing him to help out Alice in her battle against the Umbrella Corporation.

Giving Nemesis the arc of having once been Matt Addison was mildly passable, but the final act of Resident Evil: Apocalypse just took a giant turd on Nemesis.
