4. Obi-Wan
A film that has been hotly rumored for years now and seems like too perfect of a fit to pass up. Ewan McGregor is the perfect age to play an Obi-Wan halfway to looking like Alec Guiness and the story is just too ripe with possibility.
The last audiences saw of McGregor's Obi-Wan, he was a broken man clinging to one last glimmer of hope. The religion and order he had been a steadfast defender of for his entire life had suddenly been ripped away from him, with all of his friends and masters being murdered. And to top it off, it was entirely because of a boy he himself had trained.
Seeing Obi as a broken man, just desperately trying to keep his head down and protect a young Luke ties perfectly into Star Wars' love of the western genre. Obi could be a John Wanye-like figure, not looking for trouble out in the desert, but having to spring into action when those he loves are threatened.
With this film now all-but-confirmed, here's hoping audiences get to see this sooner rather than later.
