9 Suffering Film Franchises That Need The Old Yeller Treatment

6. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

tmnt Everyone in my age demographic grew up watching the exploits of the pizza-crazy, mutant turtle ninjutsu practitioners. We all have fond memories of the team working together to thwart the nefarious Shredder in the animated series and in the three feature length films released in the '90s. Enter, yet again, Michael Bay: professional nostalgia vampire and exploiter of peoples' goodwill. Bay aims to violate The Ninja Turtles franchise in 2014 with a reboot. In Bay's iteration not only will the Turtles not be teenagers, they also won't be mutants but instead aliens from a distant planet. My suggested title for Bay's new film: Not Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It'll be a sad day when it happens but I think we can all agree that it's better to flush the turtle franchise down the toilet than let Bay make it Bay-tastic.
