2. Die Hard

Perhaps the most apt title in movie history, 1988's Die Hard spawned a decades-long film franchise that has run the gambit from awesome (Die Hard with a Vengeance) to decent (Live Free or Die Hard) to a Renny Harlan movie (Die Hard 2). This year audiences suffered through A Good Day to Die Hard, a sequel that ignored the spirit of the Die Hard franchise, which had always been about an everyman overcoming certain death with bullets and one-liners, in favour of a paint by numbers action flick. Bruce Willis has expressed his desire to return for another Die Hard film but Willis and all involved should complete the work of Hans Gruber and finally put down John McClane for good.
