4. Black Widow - Marvel's The Avengers
I liked Scarlett Johansson's portrayal of the sultry Natasha Romanoff. I think, in the Marvel Universe, she is a fantastic addition, and a strong female character not bogged down by a romantic subplot should be cherished in this day and age. But I believe she would be better suited out of the Avengers. My critique comes from that big, sweeping moment when, surrounded by Chitauri, the Avengers properly assemble for the first time in a glorious piece of blockbuster cinema. Hulk roars, Captain America raps out commands like a pro, Iron Man soars above the battlefield... and Black Widow cocks two small pistols, hoping against hope that the merciless other-dimensional forces of evil aren't wearing police-issue kevlar vests. After an improbable bit of acrobatics, she is kept out of the way on a rooftop while Stark and Thor do the heavy lifting. She's probably best suited for the S.H.I.E.L.D. series.
