Marvel's movie and TV universes have so far remained separate, but the comic giant could send them out with a double whammy. If a deal cannot be reached with Fox, perhaps the studio could look closer to home for its climactic crossover.
Whatever the MCU's next big storyline ends up being after Thanos versus the Avengers - whether it's the Kree-Skrull War or Secret Invasion - it's bound to be even more incredible with added Daredevil, Jessica Jones and The Punisher.
Marvel has been coy about the prospect of a Defenders-Avengers crossover, but this would be one way of upping the ante after the Infinity War is over, and like Avengers vs. X-Men, it could be a real status quo-buster, this time across two mediums.
Daredevil and co. in the movie universe is something the fans have been calling for since Charlie Cox made his debut as the Man Without Fear, and while there would be some tonal pitfalls to avoid, this is the kind of stunt Marvel must pull to have any hope of topping the first three phases of the MCU.
