9 Worst Motion Captured Performances
2. Jason Clarke - Terminator: Genisys
Jason Clarke is an actor Hollywood seems to have a hard time figuring out what to do with. He’s great, but he doesn’t have the movie star looks for a romantic comedy or to lead a major franchise. He often looks stranded in blockbusters too; despite being the protagonist no one even remembers he was in Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, and he was annoyingly hammy in White House Down.
He didn’t do his best work with Terminator: Genisys either; in fact, it’s probably his worst performance to date. He’s not inspirational or iconic when playing John Connor's human form, and he does his best impression of a villain from a cheesy eighties action film when he becomes the T-3000.
Clarke was clearly passing time in the role, hamming up a storm, even during his CGI makeover. This doesn’t make him fun to watch, though, since it should be tragic seeing Connor turn into a villain. The only emotion is sadness for the poor animators who worked countless hours bringing the T-3000 to life, all to cover the sloppy work of the actor playing him.
