A Nightmare On Elm Street: Freddy's 10 Most Creative Kills

1. Like A Puppet On Strings - Dream Warriors

Phillip was a patient in the Westin Hills hospital in Dream Warriors, and is shown to be a relatively compassionate and funny friend to the group.

Phillip's death sequence starts with a puppet close to his bed coming to life and taking the form of Freddy, in a wonderfully creepy clay stop-motion effect. The figure then grows into the Freddy audiences all know and love, and he starts slashing at Phillip's limbs, using his veins and arteries to control him like a puppet on strings.

The shots of Phillip sleepwalking in the real world are nice touches, as are the blood splatters and subtle shaking actor Bradley Gregg throws in.

He is taken to the top of the Westin Hills where a giant Krueger is shown towering over the building. Then, with all of his Dream Warrior friends screaming and looking on in vain, Freddy severs Phillip's tendons, sending him plummeting to his death.

The kill is one of the best in the movie for combining the real-world terror with the horrors being inflicted in the Dream World, is delivered with some great acting and solid visual effects, and was clearly one of the sequences the writers had in their minds right from the start of building out the script.
