2. Gugu Mbatha-Raw
Easily the best thing about cancelled show
Undercovers and a bright light on
Touch too, former
Doctor Who alumn Mbatha-Raw is rapidly becoming both a household name and a face to watch in the coming years - something which could be bolstered with a role as a Bond girl (not that she needs it). Mbatha-Raw always emerges in her characters with an earthiness and an ability to connect that many actresses don't possess - Samantha Bloom, Clea Hopkins and Tish Jones all maintain a delicacy and a thoughtfulness to their characters, as well as an edge that makes them memorable. We could definitely see her character in the same category as Olga Kurylenko's Camille Montes - defiant, earthy, strong and beautiful. Add the fact that her American accent is near-impeccable and the British Mbatha-Raw is easily one of our top picks. Mbatha-Raw doesn't need the star boost that a position as a Bond girl might provide, but the Bond franchise could all but benefit from pairing a fledging actress like her with such potential alongside 007.
