Age Of Ultron: 10 Concerns You Should Have About The Avengers Sequel

2. Ultron Might Be Too Weak A Villain

The single weakest aspect of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to date has been the villains. There is yet to be an appearance from any single villain who truly dwarfed the hero or heroes in terms of power levels - and we don't expect that to change here. Iron Man has fought fellow armoured villains and the very lame Aldrich Killian, Captain America has fought what were essentially two fellow super soldiers in Red Skull and the Winter Soldier, Thor has fought his physically inferior brother and the awful Malekith and Hulk has fought Abomination, who was around the same level as him. Even in the Avengers movie, we had Loki again and an army of aliens who were never any threat to the heroic characters. Joss Whedon has already said that Ultron is not going to have all of his powers from the comics, so we imagine he is going to be super strong, super durable and will probably be able to fly and shoot energy blasts - and that'll be it. Granted, he is said to have an electronic consciousness that allows him to live on after being physically destroyed and place his mind in to other bodies, but none of those bodies should be able to pose a threat to Hulk or Thor. From what we gather, he's an Iron Man creation, so it will just be like fighting Iron Man. He may get himself a vibranium body, but Captain America has a vibranium shield and Mjolnir is surely just as tough - and he will still have circuitry that will be vulnerable to damage, regardless of what is covering it (especially as it looks to be exposed in the recently released pictures). Essentially, we don't want another weak-ass villain. And, as things stand, we have no reason to believe that Ultron will be any more of a physical threat to the likes of Thor and Hulk than any villains we've already seen.
