5. In What Sense Is Paradise Lost?

Before the sequel to Prometheus ended up with the title Alien: Covenant, it was going by the name Alien: Paradise Lost, an obvious allusion to John Milton€™s blank verse epic poem of the same name about the Fall of Man. This ditched title and its poetic ramifications raises some big questions for the sequel. What sort of €˜paradise€™ existed in the Alien universe to start with? And in what sense it has been €˜lost€™? Also, if the Engineers are the true gods of this fictional universe, does that mean there€™s a Satan as well?
