Alien: Covenant - 12 Big Questions After The New Trailer

6. How Much Will The Black Goo Be Used?

Alien Covenant black liquid spores

One of the cool introductions to this film is the black goo or liquid, which turns into pods. When disturbed they release spores into the air, which then enter a host body and turn into a Neomorph (which is how we come to see the backbuster).

It's a really interesting idea, and a cool new way of bringing in the alien here, but how much will it be used?

Obviously there's going to be the example we see in the trailer - you can actually see the spores entering the air - but is it something they'll take beyond that? An airborne virus that both creates alien life and kills people with it is a great concept, so hopefully it's not just limited to that one moment.
