Alien: Covenant - 15 Blunders That Ruined The Film

6. Tennessee Flies Into The Storm

As great as Danny McBride was in this movie, it was tough to buy Tennessee's decision to fly into a storm in order to rescue his wife and others, when the ship he was piloting contained 2000 colonists and 1400 embryos, putting all of them at risk.

Yes, he made an emotional call, but one would suspect that the crew for such an important mission would be heavily profiled and vetted psychologically to be able to make pragmatic decisions in the face of even their spouse's death.

Ideally, the Covenant's operational crew wouldn't consist of any couples, but instead their significant others would be in cryo along with the other colonists, which would've ensured nobody jeopardised the mission for silly emotional reasons.

Though it'd be a tough call to make, risking potentially 3400 people for a few others on the ground just isn't worth it regardless of their relation. The maths doesn't add up at all.
