2. How Did David Get Walter's Security Codes?

Another vital question about the end of the movie: how did David get a hold of Walter's security codes in order to operate the Covenant? This is another of those crucial plot points that's just brazenly brushed past to give the film a snappy "shock" ending, but again, it's indicative of lazy writing that doesn't want to do the leg-work when it comes to the details.

One has to assume that David perhaps had a way to extract data from Walter after incapacitating him, or perhaps as a "defective" droid, he had access to some sort of Weyland-Yutani override that allowed him to take control. Either way, it's pretty shaky logic.
