7. The Predator Link

Given that Ridley Scott made Prometheus to reclaim the Alien franchise from the bloated mess it had become with Alien 3 onwards, it's surprising to note that he took a little nod from one of the franchise's worst moments - the cross-over with the Predator series.

In Covenant, for the first time, we get to see an Alien attack from the creature's point of view as it stalks corridors - which definitely feels like a homage to the same shots in the Predator series. The difference, of course, is that the Xeno can see in full colour and high detail, despite having precisely zero eyes.

It actually robs the sequence of some of its suspense, but it's an interesting development.
