Bolstering all that Last Supper imagery is the fact that some fans have interpreted James Franco's character to function as a God allegory of sorts.

The two pieces of evidence are him talking about "burning up" from his illness, which could be construed as symbolic of penance or suffering in the religious sense, and secondly that he wears a blanket over himself like a robe, not dissimilar from popular, iconic images of Jesus.

Is it intentionally implanted symbolism or are fans over-analysing? Considering the ridiculous amount of allegorical imagery loaded into Prometheus, the former wouldn't be at all surprising.
